Bob Grant wins Tyre spot North of England Tarmac Championship in his G&M prepared car, retaining his title.

A 76 car entry headed off into the opening 18 mile stage just before 9 o’clock with over half of the entry still fighting for their places in the Tyre Spot championship. Very few positions were finalized but we saw the reigning champion and champion elect – Bob Grant. Although Bob was a late entry and had to run with number 13 on his Subaru, he couldn’t be caught by the confirmed runner up, John Stone in his Metro 6R4.
