Bob Grant wins Tyre spot North of England Tarmac Championship in his G&M prepared car, retaining his title.

The final rally of this year's championship took place on Sunday 11 th November over the demanding Otterburn military ranges.
A 76 car entry headed off into the opening 18 mile stage just before 9 o'clock with over half of the entry still fighting for their places in the Tyre Spot championship. Very few positions were finalized but we saw the reigning champion and champion elect - Bob Grant. Although Bob was a late entry and had to run with number 13 on his Subaru, he couldn't be caught by the confirmed runner up, John Stone in his Metro 6R4.
Congratulations to Bob Grant and Lee Carter as they are crowned the 2007 champion driver and co-driver in the North of England Tarmacadam Rally Championship, sponsored by Tyrespot.

After a thrilling Lindisfarne Rally, Bob retains the driver's title he won last year following a day long battle with his nearest rival for the championship, John Stone. They were never more than a few seconds apart on each stage all day with the lead changing hands several times between them. But a big push by Bob on the first full loop of nearly 20 miles (stage 10) saw him take 13 seconds off the 6R4 driver and although John stopped the clocks 9 seconds faster on the last stage, he still ended up 8 seconds in arrears.
Lee Carter has co driven for John all year and as his nearest rivals, Tracey Taylor-West and Vicky Grant didn't start the event, he can't be beaten no matter what the result is on the final rally.
